This is a 3D image of the Sun today. It was created by overlaying two images acquired by the SDO's AIA 171Å filter. The images were gathered about an hour apart. One was used for the red channel and one for the cyan. To see this properly in 3D you'll need to view it with standard anaglyph (red/cyan) 3D glasses. To get the best view, click on the image to bring it up in the full 1024x1024 size.
